Alongside teammate Moise Kean, McKennie helped host the 19F Podcast, where the duo discussed their life off the pitch. The USMNT star claimed that Italians aren't as accepting as he thought, labeling them as 'close-minded' when it comes to anything American in comparison to their country's traditions.

    WHAT MCKENNIE SAID

“I like people here in Italy, but the mentality is too closed, although not fully closed,” McKennie said. “Here in Italy, it’s a lot about tradition, and this is fine, but you have to be open-minded. For example. I eat pasta with pesto, tomato and chicken, and everyone is like, ‘How disgusting! Come on!! - This is the problem: everyone says it’s disgusting, but they have never tried it.”

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

McKennie has flourished for the Bianconeri this campaign, becoming a regular starter under boss Massimiliano Allegri. The USMNT star has expressed versatility under the Italian manager, too, playing in two different midfield roles as well as at right wingback. In his third year with Juventus, he's become one of the go-to names on the teamsheet, and a fan favorite as well. Now, he just needs to convince them about their takes on food, since he's already won them over on the pitch.
