UFC star Leon Edwards sent message by Manchester City's Jack Grealish after successfully defending Welterweight Championship belt against Colby Covington

Manchester City star Jack Grealish sent a congratulatory message to UFC ace Leon Edwards after his win over Colby Covington.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Edwards retained his UFC welterweight title with a straightforward decision win over Colby Covington in Las Vegas. Grealish took to Instagram before and after the fight, expressing his support for the Brit, who has always fought out of Birmingham, where the City star grew up.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Grealish may have needed to focus his mind on other things after City threw away a 2-0 lead on Saturday to draw 2-2 with Crystal Palace. Grealish scored the opening goal, but the champions were unable to see their win out, leading manager Pep Guardiola to call his players out in public.

The City star has scored three league goals this season but will now pause his domestic duties as the club head to the Club World Cup. They face Urawa Reds on Thursday.
