    In the absence of club captain Bruno Fernandes - who was suspended for the Liverpool clash after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Bournemouth, manager Erik ten Hag named Scott McTominay as the stand-in skipper for Sunday's Premier League match.

    The Scottish midfielder expressed his gratitude towards his coach as he stated that leading the Red Devils was the biggest honour of his football career.

    Speaking to reporters, the 27-year-old said, "It’s the biggest honour of my career captaining this football club. I’ve been a young boy and come through the system here, and it’s one of the biggest honours of my career. I’m thankful to be in this position and I want it more."
