Real Madrid 'monitoring' Trent Alexander-Arnold situation with Liverpool yet to open talks over new deal for right-back

According to Fabrizio Romano, Los Blancos are keeping tabs on the England international, whose contract runs until 2025. He claims there have been 'no talks' over a contract extension thus far but the Reds have no 'desire' to sell the 25-year-old.

With manager Jurgen Klopp leaving the club at the end of the season, Liverpool are approaching a new and slightly uncertain era. Fellow key players such as Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are also out of contract at Anfield next year, meaning there could well be an Anfield exodus.

Alexander-Arnold, who can play as a right-back, a right wing-back or in midfield, has made 302 appearances for Liverpool - and scored 18 goals - since making his debut in the 2016/17 season. Like many, he will be vying to get into England's Euro 2024 squad this summer; he will hope to win the Premier League first.

The defender has been sidelined with a knee injury since February 10 but will hope to play some part in Liverpool's title run-in, as they look to win the Premier League and triumph in the Europa League as well this season. They have already won the League Cup.
