WHAT HAPPENED?
The Daily Mail reports that United need to activate the Brazilian's £62.5 million ($83m) release clause but are hopeful of agreeing terms in May. Newcastle have been credited with interest in the 25-year-old but he may have been swayed by the prospect of joining the Red Devils instead.

United's attack has struggled for goals this season, and while Cunha may add more quality to their attack, Ruben Amorim's team arguably needs an out-and-out striker to solve that sizeable problem. The report adds that if the Premier League giants signed the former Atletico Madrid man, they would be able to stay in line with the division's profit and sustainability rules as well but player exits may be needed to fuel other transfer moves.
DID YOU KNOW?
The report adds that United also want to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap this summer but face increasing competition from Chelsea to sign the 22-year-old, who is said to have a £30m ($40m) release clause.
