    'Has Mbappe scored a free-kick' is an account on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, that had gained a massive following of over 200,000 following the Frenchman's early struggles for form since joining Real Madrid. The account had gained over 16 million impressions as they posted daily reminders that the 2018 World Cup winner had not scored a free-kick in his career.

    However, on Saturday, Mbappe finally scored his first-ever direct free-kick against Barcelona to bring Real Madrid level in the Copa del Rey final. Los Blancos ended up on the losing end after the Catalan side mounted a late comeback and ended up winning the match late in extra time via a spectacular goal from Mbappe's compatriot, Jules Kounde.
