  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Vardy has already announced this season will be his last at Leicester, with the striker set to say goodbye after 13 years with the Foxes. The 38-year-old could now be heading for a new challenge in the United States as MLS sides DC United and San Diego Wave are both keen on the forward, according to The Sun. Wife Rebekah is also in demand across the Atlantic, as television bosses have already entered talks about the possibility of her appearing in a reality show.

  • WHAT HAS BEEN SAID

A source told the tabloid: "The US is the most likely next move for the Vardys and is partly because Becky has had interest in TV work there. She was in talks with the makers of Selling Sunset earlier this year. They wanted her to appear as the potential buyer of a luxury home there. That stalled because of the California wildfires in January but could still happen. If it does, the show is a great ‘shop window’ for stars in the US to go on to other things. And other networks over there are aware of her because of her high profile through starring on I’m a Celeb and also the Wagatha case. It would also represent a fresh start for them and their family and a chance of moving on from recent events in the UK. But it does depend on what football offers Jamie receives as he’s still the main breadwinner. Jamie probably has a couple of years left in the game, and a lot of older players like him end up in the US. He likes the idea of America, and could even end up with Beckham’s Inter Miami side. But both Wrexham and Birmingham are still possible over here — and have their own Hollywood links.”

    THE GOSSIP

Rebekah has made plenty of headlines in recent years due to her infamous 'Wagatha Christie' battle with Wayne Rooney's wide Coleen that ended up in court and was subsequently the subject of a documentary. Vardy also made sure to enjoy Coleen's stint on 'I'm a Celeb' and was reportedly keen to join Coleen in the Australian jungle for the popular reality show.

    WHAT NEXT FOR VARDY

Vardy has yet to announce his next move but is said to be eager to stay in the Premier League or move to a top European club. The striker will finish off his Leicester career with games against Nottingham Forest, Ipswich and Bournemouth and needs to find the back of the net just one more time to reach 200 goals for the Foxes.
