But the opposing Cowboys were already known for weak defense, and HC Mike Gundy’s team looked so sloppy that wheels began to turn toward letting the long-time Stillwater coach go. Oregon QB Dante Moore’s stat lines mostly fall short of spectacular.
Penn State’s hardest task so far was defeating Florida International. PSU’s defense outperformed its offense in the 34-0 victory, one that included QB Drew Allar whiffing on 14 out of 33 passes despite his team’s easy win. Penn State only led FIU by a score of 10-0 at the halftime break.
Oregon’s run defense did not allow so much as a 40-yard rusher from Oregon State in the Civil War last weekend. Penn State’s bruising line is also poised to slow the Oregon running attack down, and make things tougher for Moore just as Allar’s offense hits speedbumps. The game’s O/U number of (51.5) would be ripe for an “under” betting rush if it weren’t for the relentless tempo of PSU and Oregon’s offenses when they want to turn it on, and the chance either defense will score a TD.
Penn State rushers Nicholas Singleton (-169) and Kaytron Allen (-138) are easily outdrawing Oregon’s names like Jayden Limar (+140) in prop betting action on tonight’s TD scoring.
