Zito advises Kotoko coach Polack on player's fitness

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder and head coach Karim Zito has advised the club's current technical team to work on the players' fitness ahead of their participation in the 2018 Caf Confederations Cup.

Kotoko were pipped 1-0 by Dreams FC currently coached by Zito in the Ghalca G8 tournament on Wednesday and now need a victory over Aduana Stars on Sunday to book their place in the semi-final.

"The conditioning and endurance of the Asante Kotoko team is very poor. The level is not up to the standard needed for Caf Confederations Cup," Zito said.

"Since they are going to participate on the country's behalf, I will advise them to work on that. I'm a legend of the club because I won several trophies with them as a player and a coach so I have to say what I observe about them. The players lack fitness.

"I have that opportunity because a legend is always a legend. If they don't improve, I'm sorry things might not work out as we expect,” he added.

Kotoko will play Congolese side CARA in the preliminary round of the Confederations Cup in February.
