Yanga Qualify for Caf Champions League First round

Lwandamina's men continued their outstanding season with a preliminary Caf Champions League thrashing of the Sychelles side St. Louis

Ligi Kuu Bara Champions, Young Africans have qualified for the first round of the CAF Champions league after beating Seychelles champions St Louis 2-1 on aggregate.

Thanks to Ibrahim Ajib 45th minute strike which gave the Tanzanian club an away goal despite the match ending to an unwanted draw.

The Jangwani giants won the aggregate tier 2-1 winning the first leg 1-0 and being held to a 1-1 draw in the second leg today in Victoria

Yanga will now sit pretty as they wait for the winner between Botswana’s Township Rollers who face Sudan’s giants Al Merreikh tonight in Omdurman .

The first round first leg fixture will be played between 6th -7th march at the National stadium in Dar es salaam with the return leg a week later in Gaborone’s National stadium

Elsewhere today,Ugandan KCCA eliminated Madagascar’s CNAPS sports on away goal rule after a 2-2 aggregate scoreline .CNAPS won the first leg 2-1 but lost the second leg by a solitary goal scored by Paul Mucureezi in the 75th minute .
