World Cup Betting: Kane heavy favourite to win Golden Boot after Colombia heroics

Harry Kane asserted his dominance in the Golden Boot race with his sixth goal of the tournament against Colombia on Tuesday night.

The England captain netted his third penalty of the tournament after being fouled by Carlos Sanchez in a way that would have given Kane flashbacks to the spot-kick he won against Panama.

He kept his nerve after a long wait, though, coolly slotting the penalty down the middle and past David Ospina to move two goals clear of Romelu Lukaku, with dabblebet now making Kane just 3/10 (1.30) to be top scorer.

Lukaku netted twice in each of his opening two games of the World Cup but missed a host of chance in Belgium’s 3-2 win over Japan and is now out at 9/1 (10.0) to oust Kane.

The Red Devils play Brazil in their quarter-final on Friday and Lukaku may have his work cut out to find the net against a side who have conceded just once in the tournament so far.

Neymar will also feature in that match and he is 14/1 (15.0) after scoring just twice in the Selecao’s four games, although he will fancy his chances against Belgium after Japan were able to breach their defence twice.

Paris Saint-Germain teammate and France star Kylian Mbappe has certainly not been overawed by the occasion of his first World Cup, scoring twice against Argentina to take his tally to three goals, but he is also 14/1 (15.0).

Elsewhere, Edinson Cavani is 28/1 (29.0) after his two-goal effort against Portugal in the last 16 took him onto three strikes, although an injury picked up in that game may mean he is out for Uruguay’s quarter-final against France.

Antoine Griezmann has two goals - both from the penalty spot - and is also 28/1 (29.0), with Luis Suarez, Eden Hazard and Philippe Coutinho all way back at 50/1 (51.0).
