The Blues are on the brink of reaching the group stages and the forward has promised his Sudanese side will finish up the job in Uyo

Al-Hilal secured a 2-0 first leg lead over Akwa  United and forward Azeez Shobowale believes his Sudanese side can 'complete the job' at the Goodwill Akpabio Stadium on Wednesday.

Having been earlier bundled out of the Caf Champions League, the Blues would be hoping for a Caf Confederation Cup success to make up for their exit from the elite inter-club event.

But the reigning Sudanese Premier League champions must replicate their first leg performance in Uyo to negotiate past Abdu Miakaba’s men in the bid to reach the group stages.

“It is a good opportunity playing against a Nigerian side as a player of a Sudanese club," Shobowale told Goal.

"I'm happy meeting most of my friends and former colleagues too. It is really an emotional moment for me to be back in Nigeria.

“I expect a tough match against Akwa United but I'm confident we can complete the job here in Uyo. That’s my primary assignment here. We know Akwa will be desperate to win at home but we well prepared for them.

“For us, our win in Sudan is not of much importance for now because whatever result we get in Uyo will be crucial to our qualification to the group stages. Though, we know it will not be easy but our aim is to win here."

Shobowale and the mates would be hoping to stop the hosts from scoring three goals as they seek to progress to the group phase of the competition.
