Ushuru return to winning ways as Nairobi Stima fall

Ushuru FC made a gigantic step towards the Kenyan Premier League after downing Palos 2-0.

The Ken Kenyatta coached side needed maximum points to ensure they remain on top after last week’s shock 2-1 defeat against Nairobi City Stars.

After a goalless first half, the taxmen broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute courtesy of Osca Mbugua, before Benson Amianda doubled the advantage from the penalty spot twelve minutes later. The result ensures Ushuru remains on top with 75 points.

KCB ended Nairobi Stima's hopes of making it to the top three after emerging 3-1 victorious. The bankers hit the back of the net in the 8th minute courtesy of Simon Abuko.

Chrispinus Onyango made it two, three minutes later before Bethuel Warambo scored the third in the 13th minute. Victor Ochami scored the consolation for the power men.

At Afraha Stadium, Wazito made their intentions clear after downing their hosts Nakuru All Stars by a solitary goal. The lone goal was scored in the 68th minute by Erick Odhiambo.

Goals from Erick Kapaito and Anthony Gicho handed FC Talanta 2-0 win against Isebania while Kenya Police defeated St Josephs 3-1. In another match played at Muhoroni, Agro Chemicals and GFE 105 settled for a barren draw as Kibera Black Stars downed Modern Coast Rangers by a solitary goal.
