Siphiwe Tshabalala backs Kaizer Chiefs to find consistency to challenge for the PSL title

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala believes that it’s imperative for them to find their rhythm, with the season approaching the half-way stage.

“I think it (the slow PSL start) tells you one thing; that consistency is very key and that it is a challenge for most of the teams,” Tshabalala told Sowetan.

The long-serving Amakhosi player admits inconsistency has been their downfall the duration of the campaign as they welcome Ajax Cape Town on Saturday.

“Once you’re consistent you definitely have a better chance of winning the league.

“And it’s still our challenge that we’re not consistent. But I think it’s something that we need to work on next year,” Tshabalala said.

Victory over the Urban Warriors, will take the Glamour Boys to 22 points and according to ‘Shabba’ it will be a confidence-booster for the remainder of the campaign.

“We don’t have much time, next year’s next month. And we have big games in January.

“So I think this one against Ajax‚ if we take maximum points‚ can at least give us a morale-booster for the next month because we also did well by winning the previous game,” Tshabalala concluded.

The Amakhosi have won only four games to date in 14 matches, and anything other than a victory at the Moses Mabhida Stadium will put them further off with the pace-setters.
