Osei backs Kotoko to win FA Cup title against Hearts

Asante Kotoko former coach Michael Osei has tipped the Kumasi-based side to end their trophy drought by defeating fierce rivals Hearts of Oak in the FA Cup final next weekend at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors last lifted a trophy in 2014 and have failed to finish within the top-four of the Ghana Premier League in the last two seasons.

“I wish Kotoko the best of luck against Hearts of Oak in the FA Cup final. This is a big chance for them to win their first trophy since 2014,” Osei to Class FM.

“It is going to be a difficult game against Hearts but l still believe and wish Kotoko are the best side to win the FA Cup,” he added.

Osei, who is currently in charge of Liberty Professionals, needed a crucial win against Kotoko on final day of the just-concluded season to beat the drop.

During Osei's era in 2016, Kotoko were eliminated from the FA Cup in the quarterfinals by eventual winners Bechem United.
