Mathare United new signing sets new target

New Mathare United man Ronald Reagan has set himself a target of three goals in the next five matches for the 'slum boys'.

Reagan, a former striker with Kibera Black Stars, who crossed to Mathare during the June transfer window, has been switched to the right flunks by coach Francis Kimanzi, with his first test coming against Zoo Kericho in a Kenyan Premier League match staged on Sunday in Kericho. The match ended in a barren draw.

“I was disappointed not to score but my target still remains to score at least three goals in the first five matches I will feature in,” the 27 year-old told club’s official website.

“I am used to playing as the target man but I think I did well as a winger. It was a bit challenging at the beginning but as the game wore on I grew more confident.”

Mathare United, who will next take on Sony Sugar, are currently 17th on the log with only 11 points from 15 matches.
