'Loyal' Hazard will stick with Chelsea despite Real Madrid rumours - Wise

Eden Hazard will not be leaving Chelsea any time soon, says Dennis Wise, with the “loyal” performer expected to shun interest from Real Madrid.

For a number of windows now, the Belgium playmaker has been heavily linked with a big-money move to Spain.

He had hinted at taking on a new challenge after taking in World Cup duty with his country over the summer, but has now confirmed that he will see out the 2018-19 campaign at Stamford Bridge.

Wise expects that announcement to be honoured and believes a man who remains in talks to extend his contract past 2020 could stick around for the foreseeable future.

The former Blues captain told beIN SPORTS on a much sought-after asset:  “I think he’ll stay, I really do.

“He’s important to Chelsea and the fans as well, he’s important to the team as he is a player of exceptional ability.

“You want to keep those type of players so fingers crossed nothing happens.

“I think he’s quite loyal and I think he wants to stay at Chelsea, I really do.”

Hazard has been eased into the new season by Maurizio Sarri, but has still been making a considerable contribution from the bench.

Chelsea have been reluctant to ask too much of a player who helped Belgium to a third-place finish at Russia 2018.

He has, however, offered plenty of indication that he is fully match sharp and could be included from the start when the Blues head to Newcastle on Sunday.

The 27-year-old is currently taking in seventh season at Stamford Bridge, having signed from French outfit Lille in the summer of 2012.
