Liverpool
The Reds are not in the best form heading into this game but they are expected to get a vital three points against the Glasgow club

Liverpool hope to maintain their fight for top spot in Group A of the Champions League when they host Rangers at Anfield on Tuesday. The Reds have three points from two matches, having recovered from their opening day defeat to Napoli by beating Ajax in the second game.

Rangers, meanwhile, are on zero points after being beaten by Ajax and Napoli so far.

Liverpool vs Rangers latest odds

Unsurprisingly, Liverpool are huge favourites to emerge victorious from the encounter at Anfield, with bet365 offering them at 1/7 (1.14).

Rangers meanwhile are offered at a massive 14/1 (15.0) with the draw at 15/2 (8.5).

Liverpool vs Rangers first goal scorer odds

Mohamed Salah is off to a slow start this season but is the favourite to get his second goal of the Champions League campaign by breaking the deadlock on Tuesday at odds of 3/1 (4.0) ahead of co-stars Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota, who are both 15/4 (4.75).

At 14/1 (15.0), Alfredo Morelos is the lowest-priced Rangers player to break the deadlock, while top scorer Antonio-Mirko Colak is priced at 16/1 (17.0).

Liverpool vs Rangers preview

Liverpool are yet to properly get up and running this season.

They sit ninth in the Premier League following their latest slip up - a 3-3 draw against Brighton on Saturday - and the pressure is on Jurgen Klopp and his star players to rectify the situation as soon as possible.

They have been dealt a tough group in the Champions League with Napoli and Ajax also vying for a spot in the top two of the pool.

But Tuesday's performance puts them against the biggest underdogs, as Rangers struggled were crushed by Ajax and then their resistance against Napoli fell apart in the second half at Ibrox.

Their hopes against Liverpool are perhaps even smaller due to the fitness issues in Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team.

Tom Lawrence and long term absentees Ianis Hagi, Filip Helander and John Souttar are all missing, while James Sands is suspended.

Liverpool vs Rangers tips and predictions

There have been over 2.5 goals in plenty of Liverpool's recent games and that is expected to come through again on Tuesday at odds of 1/3 (1.33).

The more adventurous bet of over 3.5 goals at 4/5 (1.8) may be worth a punt instead.
