Everything you need to know ahead of the Premier League clash against Marco Silva's side at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday afternoon

Liverpool want to follow up a spirited midweek performance against Chelsea with their first Premier League win of 2017 when they visit Hull City.

The turn of the year has seen Jurgen Klopp's side record three draws and a defeat in the division during a miserable January, but having weathered the worst of their selection issues, the Merseysiders are primed for an upturn in form.

However, Marco Silva's appointment at the KCOM Stadium has revitalised struggling Hull, who held Manchester United to a goalless draw on Wednesday.

They will target a continuation of their fight under the 39-year-old this weekend by landing a third successive home win against Liverpool.

There are no new setbacks for Klopp to find solutions for as both Nathaniel Clyne and Jordan Henderson came through the 1-1 draw against Chelsea without aggravating an abdominal and heel issue respectively.

HD Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane came off the bench in that game on 75 minutes following his return from Africa Cup of Nations duty and the Senegal international should be fielded from the off on Saturday.

The Reds have no suspension worries, while Silva should have Dieumerci Mbokani among his options again with the striker returning from AFCON duty following the Democratic Republic of Congo's quarter-final defeat to Ghana.

Ahmed Elmohamady, meanwhile, will be absent as he represents Egypt in the showpiece's final on Sunday.

Loanee Lazar Markovic is not allowed to play against his parent club.

Philippe Coutinho, Mane, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino should all feature together for the first time since the 6-1 victory over Watford on 6 November.

There is unlikely to be too many alterations to the starting XI with Klopp finally able to field his strongest side again.

GFX Potential Liverpool XI v Hull City

Silva has led Hull to a win and a draw in his first three games at the helm, with defeat coming against leaders Chelsea.

They lie four points away from safety and, as per Klopp's opinion, do not come across as a team sat second from bottom in the standings.

The German is looking forward to an "interesting challenge" given his analysis on the Tigers threw up plenty of differing line-ups and systems under Silva.

Marco Silva Hull City

The hosts made four changes against United and are likely to tinker again given Markovic's unavailability for the game as well as Mbokani's return.

Deadline-day signing Andrea Ranocchia was a substitute on Wednesday and is in line for a start, while Curtis Davies is sidelined through a hamstring injury.

  • Hull have lost just one of their four previous home Premier League games against Liverpool, winning the last two.

  • James Milner has been directly involved in six goals in his last six Premier League games against Hull (five goals, one assist).

  • Liverpool have attempted more shots on target (143) and scored more goals (52) than any other top-flight team this season.

Kick off is at 3pm and the match will not be televised live in the UK.
