‘Let us all wake up’ - Ajibola Otegbeye appeals to Sunshine Stars management

Ajibola Otegbeye has appealed to Sunshine Stars management to play their role in helping the team escape the drop.

The Owena Whales, no thanks to a poor start this season are 18th on the log with 28 points from 24 games.

The forward who returned to the Akure based side after a short stint with Akwa United, queried why the team is yet to resume training ahead of league resumption while urging all and sundry to put hands on deck to save the team from going down.

“Sunshine Stars must not be relegated as it won’t speak well for anybody’s CV,” Otegbeye was quoted by ScoreNigeria.

“The players and coaches are working hard to avoid the drop, but it seems their efforts are not complemented by the management.

“Most teams have resumed but Sunshine Stars are yet to resume due to some issues which I believe the people in power should have solved before now.

“Teams who are comfortable on the table are back in training, but Sunshine Stars who are 18th on the table are still on break.

“Teams are already preparing for the resumption of the league, but we are there relaxing as if nothing is at stake.

“Let us all wake up from our sleep and take this team to the position they rightly belong. Let’s fight together, work together and prove people wrong.”
