Inter Allies coach Owusu blames players after Wafa defeat

The Eleven is to One manager has blamed his player's lack of concentration for their defeat to Wafa

Inter Allies coach Prince Owusu says mistakes by his charges amounted to their 2-0 defeat to Wafa in Ghana Premier League matchday 15 encounter at the Academy Park in Sokagope on Saturday.

A brace from youngster Prince Ampem was enough to hand the hosts their first home victory over Allies as they finished the first round of the campaign on top of the log.

“I think we started the game very slowly. They were ahead of us for about 15 minutes and they had a goal around that time and that was a big blow. I don’t know whether it was the warm up or whatever, we didn’t start well at all,” Owusu said.

“My players froze in that 15 minutes and after that period they came back, played very good football. We went for the first half and we came back to take over the game but again one of the boys did a big mistake at the back, played the ball to the opponent and that ended in the second goal.”

He added: “I think our performance isn’t bad in the first round because we are getting the pieces together. There is something wrong but we will talk about it in house and bounce back in the second round.”

Allies sit 10th on the log with 18 points and will welcome Wafa to the El Wak Sports Stadium when the league resumes after the break.
