Gyan overwhelmed by reception from Kayserispor supporters

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan says he had an overwhelming reception from supporters of Turkish side Kayserispor upon his arrival in the city on Friday.

The 31-year-old signed a two-year deal as a free agent with the Anatolian Star on Thursday, following the expiration of his contract with Chinese side Shanghai SIPG.

“Everything is okay here after arriving and the fans have been extremely amazing,” Gyan told Hot FM.

“What the fans did and the reception I've received here is something that I have never experienced before in my career. I have played for several clubs but how the fans received me here from the airport to the secretariat is the best in my career,” he said.

“Everything have been sealed now and all what is left is for me to meet my new teammates and start work with them for the club. I hope I will be able to help the club achieve their dreams in Europe next season,” he added.

Gyan, who is Ghana's all-time topscorer with 51 goals in 105 appearances, has previously played for Italian sides Modena and Udinese as well as Sunderland in England and Al Ain and Al Ahli in the United Arab Emirates.
