Ghanaian Nyame leaves Bidvest Wits after failing trials

The Clever Boys denied signing the Ghanaian anchorman ahead of their PSL encounter against Chippa United in East London on Tuesday

Medeama midfielder Theophilus Nyame has left Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Bidvest Wits following an unsuccessful trial stint.

Nyame started training with Braamfontein-based side last week, while hoping to impress Gavin Hunt and his technical team.

The Ghanaian midfielder was then said to have signed a two-year deal with the Clever Boys after successfully completing a routine medical test.

However, Wits have since dismissed the reports insisting that the central midfielder had been let go after failing to impress the technical team.

It is believed that Nyame is still in the country, while undergoing trials at another unknown South African club as he looks to secure a PSL contract.

Nyame has turned out for one of Ghana's biggest clubs, Asante Kotoko, who released him after just a season at the Kumasi-based club.

The 23-year-old midfield enforcer joined another Ghanaian club Medeama two months ago as he looked to resurrect his career.

He's now hoping to realize his dream of plying his trade outside his home country.
