Senegal international Badou Ndiaye was filled with mixed reactions after Stoke City crumbled to a 2-1 defeat against AFC Bournemouth in his maiden Premier League game.

The 27-year-old switched to the English top-flight after completing a €16 million transfer from Galatasaray on transfer deadline day.

And Ndiaye was immediately included in the Potters' starting XI and was on parade for 71 minutes.

The midfielder provided the assist for Xherdan Shaqiri's fourth minute opener but was later shown a yellow card in the 38th minute.

Despite the disappointing defeat at the Vitality Stadium, the former Osmanlispor player is still grateful to have made his English Premier League bow.

"Wow what a week! Honored to make my Stoke City and Premier League debut today," Ndiaye captioned an Instagram post.

"Disappointed with the result but I have a feeling we will bounce back in no time," he added.
