Rivers United vs. EnyimbaShengol Pixs

Enyimba are preparing hard for Djoliba, says Paul Aigbogun

Enyimba coach, Paul Aigbogun has hinted that they are solely focused on their first game in the group stage of the Caf Confederation Cup against Djoliba AC of Mali.

The People’s Elephant will face the Malians on May 6 in Calabar and the tactician stated that they would rather concentrate on the build-up to that fixture alone while the remaining ones take the backseat.

“We are preparing with all that we have for the first game with Djoliba of Mali,” Aigbogun told Goal.

“We will take our games one after the other and won’t preoccupy our minds with games that are yet to be played. Djoliba are a tough side and we must be fully focused on them to beat them and start our group stage campaign on a high.

“It doesn’t mean that we do not have other opponents in Group C on our minds but we shall start talking about that as soon as we are done with Djoliba. We have a couple of league matches to play before then and as from next week; our priority will shift to the build-up to May 6."

The former coach of Warri Wolves confirmed that plans are underway for them to collect match tapes of MFM versus Djoliba Caf Confederation Cup ties for them to properly study them.

“I know that the club management is making moves to seek the match tapes of Djoliba games from MFM since they played against them only recently,” he added.

“Everything we are doing is to ensure that we have the best of preparations and are in top shape for the tie with Djoliba.”

Enyimba will also do battle with Williamsville Athletic Club (Cote D’Ivoire) and Club Atlhetique Renaissance Aiglons (Congo) in Group C of the second tier Africa’s club competition.
