Betting Preview: Real Madrid and Barcelona impossible to split in the La Liga title race

An impressive performance from Real Madrid on Sunday night saw Zinedine Zidane's men beat Barcelona 3-1 at the Camp Nou in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup, a result which underlined Los Blancos' status for many people as favourites for the La Liga title.

The defending champions, however, are level in bet365's market for the Primera Division title with their Catalan rivals, with both sides offered at 10/11 (1.91).

That might come as something of a surprise given Madrid's dominant season last year, coupled with the fact that Barca have lost one of their best players in Neymar and are struggling to find anything resembling a replacement.

Sunday evening underlined what seems like being the key difference between the two clubs once more, with the contrast in the strength in depth apparent; while Madrid brought on Cristiano Ronaldo and Marco Asensio in the second half, Barca sent on Gerard Deulofeu and Paco Alcacer, although the controversial sending off could have repercussions for the Portugal international.

Of course Barca will look to reinforce the squad in what remains of the transfer window, yet they will need some extremely shrewd business to be able to rival the depth of their rivals' squad.

bet365 will continue to stream every game of the Spanish season so customers can watch and bet on the action as it unfolds. With restrictions on some games, this is an excellent option for those who want to check out the matches on desktop, mobile and tablet regardless of what time they are being played. Geo restrictions may apply so check out the "Live Streaming" schedule for all the latest information.

Elsewhere in the market, Atletico Madrid are priced at 33/1 (34.00) to reclaim the title they won back in 2014, but with Los Rojiblancos currently unable to register new players they are unlikely to be able to compete for a sustained period.

Sevilla, meanwhile, looked like they might be serious title contenders last season, although they fell away badly in the last couple of months. There has been plenty of turnover at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan, with a new manager plus a host of new players, and the Andalusians are priced at 150/1 (151.00) to win the league, and at a much more attractive 11/8 (2.38) to finish in the top four.

In terms of a value bet though, the price of 16/1 (17.00) for Celta Vigo to finish in the top four could be worthy of some consideration with the Galicians looking extremely impressive in pre-season.

New manager Juan Carlos Unzue has got the side playing some sensational football and if Iago Aspas can repeat his form of last term, which saw him end as the top scoring Spaniard in La Liga, Celta could definitely over-achieve in the forthcoming campaign.
