"We are delighted that Kwasi Okyere has decided to change to Munich," Sauer told the club's website.

"He has already gained experience in the third league, but he is still a young player with a lot of development potential. He will feature for the second string side before he earns promotion to the senior team," he added.

Okyere previously played for Ghana's U20 side at the 2015 Africa U20 Cup of Nations qualifiers but still eligible to represent Germany at the senior level.

He will become the first Ghanaian to play for the Bundesliga giants after former Black Stars defender Samuel Osei Kuffour, who spent more than a decade at the club between 1993 and 2005, winning 16 titles.
