Arsenal team news: Ozil returns from illness against Huddersfield

The Gunners have the opportunity to cement their top-four standing and edge four points clear of Tottenham when they play host to the Terriers

Mesut Ozil has shaken off an illness to return to the Arsenal starting XI for their home date with Huddersfield.

The Gunners will be seeking to cement their top-four standing in the Premier League when they take on the Terriers, with Arsene Wenger’s side having edged ahead of out-of-sorts arch-rivals Tottenham.

Having their Germany international playmaker back at Arsene Wenger’s disposal should aid that cause, with Ozil an important creative influence.

Ozil 13/10 to score anytime

His return is the only change made to the team which secured a dramatic victory away at Burnley last time out.

Wenger has plenty of attacking options to utilise off the bench, should he wish to do so.

If Arsenal find themselves toiling at any stage, then the likes of Jack Wilshere, Alex Iwobi, Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud will all be raring to go.

The Gunners will, however, be hoping to enjoy a comfortable night’s work against top-flight newcomers.
