Legendary Orlando Pirates striker Andries Sebola believes Thamsanqa Gabuza should request a move away from the club in January as he appears to fallen down the pecking order under Micho Sredojevic.
“It’s like you say Gabuza doesn’t seem to be in the coach’s plans. So, it will be best for him to look at the January transfer window and request a move either on-loan because it doesn’t look like he’ll play a lot,” Sebola told Goal.
The Bafana Bafana striker returned to the line-up in the 1-0 defeat to Bidvest Wits on Saturday after missing the last few encounters.
He scored the club’s first goal this season in the opening day win at home to Chippa United, and has found game-time hard to come by since with Ghanaian Bernard Morrison the preferred man lately.
Bucs appear to have redeemed themselves after last season’s atrocity, and the exit of Oupa Manyisa to Mamelodi Sundowns has a lot to do with the surge in form, according to Sebola.

“The departure of Oupa Manyisa put the players under pressure and urged them to lift their game because nobody expected him to go,” Sebola said.
“For him to go, showed the other players that anyone can go. That’s how Irvin Khoza operates. You can see with Micho, it’s not about big names. If you perform in training you will play. He has blooded in players like (Musa) Nyatama and (Innocent) Maela who are making their presence felt and I’m happy for every player who is putting in the effort,” Sebola added.
