Anderlecht v Paris Saint-Germain Betting: Big PSG win on the cards in Belgium

Paris Saint-Germain can maintain their perfect start to their Champions League campaign when they travel to take on Anderlecht on Wednesday night.

Unai Emery's men were magnificent in their Champions League curtain-raiser, recording a sensational 5-0 victory against Celtic in Glasgow, and the Parisians followed up with a thrilling 3-0 win against Bayern Munich last time out.

PSG missed out on the French title last term, but the big-spending side have started the season superbly, winning all-but one of their 12 competitive matches so far this season and the Ligue 1 leaders will take some stopping in the Belgian capital.

Betsafe offer just 4/25 (1.16) that PSG pick up all three points in Brussels, while the odds compilers offer just 41/100 (1.41) that the French side win by at least two clear goals when they face Hein Vanhaezebrouck's men.

Anderlecht have been beaten 3-0 in both of their opening two Champions League clashes - against Bayern Munich and Celtic respectively - and, having lost 15 of their last home 19 matches in this competition, there is no question that the Belgian champions will need to be at their very best if they are to spring a surprise on this occasion.

Indeed, the enormity of the task facing Anderlecht is reflected by Betsafe's 37/2 (19.50) quote for the Belgian side to kickstart their Champions League campaign with a famous victory, and the same firm go 171/20 (9.55) that Vanhaezebrouck's men pick up a point against the in-form Parisians.

The last meeting between these two teams in Brussels ended in a fabulous 5-0 victory for PSG, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic's four-goal haul taking the headlines; Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will be amongst the star names competing for top billing on this occasion and Anderlecht could well find themselves on the end of another heavy defeat.

Betsafe offer 51/50 (2.02) that the Parisians win without conceding, while the 7/20 (1.35) quote from the same firm for PSG to come out on top in a match in which at least three goals are scored looks to be a solid selection - especially given that it would have landed in nine of the 11 matches that Emery's men have won so far this season.

Given the apparent gulf between the two teams, however, better value may lie in backing PSG to chalk up another big win in Brussels; a repeat of that 5-0 success is a 13/1 (14.0) shot with Betsafe, but punters could find a more straightforward path to profit by backing the visitors at 107/100 (2.07) to win by at least three clear goals in the Belgian capital on Wednesday night.
