Abdullahi Shehu wins top goal award in Cypriot first division league

Nigeria and Anorthosis defender Abdullahi Shehu has been awarded the second best goal in the Cypriot first division league for the 2016/2017 season.

The 24-year-old was rewarded for his exceptional strike in Anorthosis’s 4-1 win over Ermis Aradippou on January 28.

Shehu connected to Nikola Mitrović’s free-kick in the 63rd minute with an astounding bicycle kick inside the penalty area to increase the Ronny Levy’s side dominance to 3-1.

The elated Super Eagles defender who has scored twice in 28 league games for the Stadio Antonis Papadopoulos outfit, dedicated the award to his fans across the globe.

 Anorthosis who are placed sixth with 46 points in the Cyprus championship title playoff and 25 points adrift from Europa League qualification spot, will play third placed Apollon on Sunday.
