Brentford have officially involved the police after a video went viral showing a rugby ball being kicked from a nearby high-rise flat directly into the Gtech Community Stadium. The dangerous incident occurred during their narrow Premier League defeat against Liverpool on Saturday, prompting the club to strongly condemn the reckless behaviour and launch a full investigation.
Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has leapt to the defence of 23-year-old attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz amid mounting scrutiny. Despite a slow start to the current campaign, the playmaker responded brilliantly by creating nine chances against Brentford, prompting his boss to demand more balanced coverage of the €125 million signing's performances.
