Carson Beck has been nothing short of outstanding since making the move from Georgia to Miami. The senior has been surgical in his first three outings, connecting on 79% of his throws for 812 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging nearly 10 yards per attempt. Even in a game where he was picked off twice against USF, Beck still posted a stellar 205 passer rating thanks to piling up 340 yards and three scores through the air. His confidence in his own ability is clearly paying dividends.
The Hurricanes’ ground game has also done its part. Mark Fletcher rumbled for 120 yards on just 16 carries (7.5 per tote) and punched in two touchdowns, while also adding 25 yards as a receiver. Out wide, Keelan Marion provided steady production, hauling in six passes for 81 yards at 13.5 yards a clip against the Bulls.

DJ Lagway hasn’t lived up to the immense hype that surrounded him when he arrived in Gainesville as the nation’s top quarterback recruit in the 2024 class. The freshman looked rattled in Florida’s crushing loss to LSU, tossing five interceptions and averaging just 6.3 yards per attempt. A shortened offseason due to injuries hasn’t helped, and the rust has been glaring in his early performances.
Still, the Gators had a few bright spots in Baton Rouge. Jadan Baugh churned out 46 yards on 10 carries (4.6 per rush) and added seven catches for 59 yards as a reliable check-down option. Meanwhile, Vernell Brown III was busy as well, pulling in eight passes for 62 yards on 13 targets.
