Sunshine Stars coach, Duke Udi hails the 'tough mental attitude' of his players following their 4-2 defeat of ABS on Sunday.

The Owena Whales defied the odds to secure a victory over the Saraki Boys at the Kwara Stadium Complex.

"The tough mental attitude of the players is what has helped us to win," Udi told Goal.

"I want to thank the players and the management for the achievement. The good people of Ondo are proud of them.

"We were faced with the extreme difficulty of playing the match and the huge crowd yet we emerged victoriously.

"The players were very tough, the technical crew played their part and we were backed by a mentally tough management team.

"All of these people must take credit for our qualification as well as our fans who offered prayers for us."

After 28 rounds of Nigerian topflight encounters, Sunshine Stars are 15th in the log with 36 points.
