The Peace Boys’ handler has reiterated his conviction that all the teams in the top five have equal chances of winning the league title

Plateau United coach, Kennedy Boboye believes, with ten matches to go, the league title race is still open.

The Jos side are on top of the league with 51 points from 28 games and are five points ahead of second-placed MFM.

“We are aware we must continue to give our best if we are to end the season as league champions,” Boboye told Goal.

"I still believe we have lots of matches still to be played before the end of the season and it won’t be fair on other teams if we say we are going to win the league when we still have 30 points more to negotiate. We shall take our games one after the other. I believe the only way we can win the league is to continue to do well both home and away.

“We are still very hopeful of picking more away wins and draws before the end of the season. We won’t also take our opponents for granted in our home matches knowing that they can surprise us if we fail to respect them. We are on the right course to win the league and we must continue that routine until the end of the season. We cannot say that the league title race is over when we still have teams in the top five pushing for more points from both home and away matches.”

Plateau United will travel to Lokoja to face Niger Tornadoes in another league tie on Sunday.
