Lugarusic wants Kotoko supporters calm after exit

Asante Kotoko former coach Zdravko Lugarusic says the supporters of the club must be patient with decisions by the club's top hierarchy and coaches.

The Croatian, who joined the Kumasi giants in January, lasted only three months, following criticism from a section of supporters for his 3-5-2 system, which led to his sacking.

Kotoko are currently third on the log with 18 points, four points behind table toppers Wafa.

“I came to Kotoko in peace and also Kotoko need peace right now that I am no more. The supporters should calm down and allow the club some peace since coaches are coming and leaving because of them,” Lugarusic told reporters.

“Management have to make decisions and sometimes can be right or wrong but their job is to make decisions and they have to do what is right for the club and the rest of us must respect the decisions they make because somebody also put them there."

He added: "The fans should exercise some level of patience and respect the sort of decisions management and coaches make at the club. They should rather stand behind people holding offices so that they can achieve something meaningful for the club."

Lugarusic departed Ghana to Croatia on Wednesday but hinted a possible comeback in future.

Kotoko are hoping to return to winning ways as they face Wa All Stars in matchday 12 of the Ghana Premier League at Wa on Sunday.
