Gor Mahia news: Ze Maria to have final call on 'Gattuso'

Ronald Ngala reveals to Goal that player's contract will run out in June but talks of extending must have coach's blessing

Head coach Jose 'Ze Maria' Ferreira will have the final call on whether to extend the contract of deep-lying midfielder Collins 'Gattuso' Okoth.

Gor Mahia deputy secretary general Ronald Ngala has revealed to Goal that the player`s contract runs out this month (June) but talks for a possible extension must have the blessing of the tactician.

"His ('Gattuso') contract is soon coming to an end but whether we renew it or not is upto the coach. Right now he is away and we can only look at it when he returns."

Ze Maria is in his home country Brazil for a short vacation and is not expected until later this month. Ze Maria has preffered to field either Ernest Wendo or Rwandan Jean Baptiste-Mugiraneza at the base of midfield and it remains to be seen how he will handle the situation.
