France v England Betting: Back nail-biting encounter to be sealed late on

England and France will both be hoping to bounce back from disappointment when they come face-to-face at the Stade de France in Tuesday’s international friendly clash.

Beaten 2-1 by Sweden in Friday’s qualification clash, Les Bleus are 19/20 (1.95) favourites with bet365 to bounce straight back with a victory in Paris.

Meanwhile, Gareth Southgate’s men required a last minute equaliser to draw 2-2 with Scotland on Saturday but are available at 16/5 (4.20) to go one better by coming out on top here.

That stalemate was a second in three fixtures for the guests, who are on offer at 11/5 (3.20) to play out another draw in this one.

While fans could perhaps have been forgiven for leaving Hampden Park early on Saturday given the rather uninspiring football on display, they would have missed an extremely dramatic finale that provided three goals in the last five minutes.

With this in mind, anyone thinking of making an early departure from the Stade de France should think twice given the hosts’ recent habit of providing late goalmouth action.

Ola Toivonen’s late winner in Solna means that Dider Deschamp’s men have seen goals scored within the final 20 minutes in each of the previous four games, making odds of 5/6 (1.83) seem rather generous on one going in after the 71st minute here.

That bet would have paid out in seven of England’s last nine friendly fixtures, so should be well worth the investment considering their opponent’s similar habit of ensuring late drama.

In fact, France have also seen the net ripple after 70 minutes in nine of their 12 previous friendly matches, making that wager look all the more appealing in a clash that is likely to see a fair number of potentially disruptive substitutions as it draws to a close.
