BREAKING: FKF charges top KPL officials

Football Kenya Federation has labeled four offenses on four Kenyan Premier League Limited officials and summoned them to appear before the federation’s Independent Disciplinary Committee.

Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has confirmed to Goal that him together with former KPL chairman James Musyoki, Mathare United boss Bob Munro and KPL CEO Jack Oguda have been notified of their offenses in a letter from the federation.

“Yes I have received a letter from the federation charging me and my colleagues for committing about four offenses. The only thing they never included in the letter is the date on which we are to appear before the FKF Disciplinary committee.”

Part of the letter reads, “Football Kenya Federation has charged you for committing an act or making a statement or being responsible for a conduct which is considered unsporting insulting or improper behavior or likely to bring the game into disrepute contrary to article 7.1 or the rules of Kenyan football 2015.

“That you (James Musyoki, Ambrose Rachier, Bob Munro and Jack Oguda) on diverse dates of February 3rd and 6th jointly or severally uttered, printed, published, caused or made or otherwise allowed to be made statements that were meant to persuade, encourage, instigate, pressure, cancel, incite or any other way caused some members of the federation namely Kenyan Premier League clubs and particularly Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka to disobey lawful decisions of its Football Kenya Federation Club Licensing Committee.”

On Sunday, Goal exclusively reported that FKF were on the verge of cracking the whip after efforts to resolve the impasse of whether to have 16 or 18 teams hit a snag. It will be fascinating to see how the entire stalemate, which has delayed 2017 Kenyan Premier League kick-off, will be resolved once and for all.
