Arsenal eye up Vazquez move


Arsenal want to sign Real Madrid attacker Lucas Vazquez as the replacement for Alexis Sanchez, claims Don Balon .

Alexis is desperate to leave Arsenal in the transfer window and wants to join Manchester City now, rather than wait to complete a free transfer at the end of the season when his contract expires.

A string of names has been mooted to replace the Chilean, with Madrid’s Vazquez now an option for Arsene Wenger, who feels the Spaniard has the qualities to compensate for Alexis’s departure.


David Luiz offered to Madrid

David Luiz’s representatives have offered the Chelsea defender to Real Madrid, in addition to Barcelona, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The Brazil international is looking to leave Chelsea during the January transfer window, so that he can play regularly before the World Cup in Russia in the summer.

Barcelona have already twice turned down the chance to sign the centre-half, with Madrid also offered the opportunity of a deal. Arsenal have also been linked with a January approach for Luiz.


Dortmund rival Man Utd for Malcom

Borussia Dortmund have joined the chase to sign Bordeaux’s in-demand winger Malcom, according to The Sun .

Manchester United are expected to make a £40 million bid for Malcom in January, with a view to allowing the Brazilian to stay at Bordeaux for the rest of the season.

Arsenal and Tottenham are also reported to be interested, and now Dortmund are considering an approach as they look for a long-term replacement for Ousmane Dembele, who joined Barcelona last summer.


Wenger wants Walcott to stay

Theo Walcott is still wanted at Arsenal following reports the winger is a target for his former club Southampton and AC Milan.

The winger has struggled for regular playing time this season and has been linked with a move in January amid claims he has offered himself to Milan.

A return to Southampton has also been mooted, but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said: “I heard about that but I want him to stay.”

Wenger denies Aubameyang interest

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ruled out a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January.

Reports had claimed that Wenger is considering an approach for Aubameyang, if Manchester City target Alexis Sanchez leaves the Emirates Stadium in the transfer window.

However, when asked about any interest in signing the Gabon international this month, Wenger said: “No, that is not a possibility.”

Walcott offers himself to Milan

Theo Walcott has offered himself to AC Milan in an attempt to move on from Arsenal this winter, reports  Corriere dello Sport .

The England international has barely featured for the Gunners in the Premier League this season and looks set to depart in January.

The Italian side would offer the 28-year-old playing time ahead of the World Cup, though he would not be allowed to play for the Serie A side in Europe this season.

Despite not having a new contract with Arsenal just yet, the midfielder doesn't want to leave the Emirates and is prepared to turn his back on a number of potential moves.

The Gunners are said to be on the verge of offering him a heavily incentivised deal — with the promise of another new contract in the future if he can find his best form — to stay in London. 


Tarkowski staying with Burnley

The news that James Tarkowski has signed a new long-term deal with Burnley has forced a re-think for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City as they look for defensive signings, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The 25-year-old was also being chased by Chelsea and Arsenal, but has decided to stay at Turf Moor. 

The signing has strengthened talk of Jonny Evans, Samuel Umtiti or Inigo Martinez singing as City go in search of another defender. 


Arsenal turn to Aubameyang

Arsenal will look to make a January move for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if Alexis Sanchez leaves during the transfer window, according to  Gianluca Di Marzio .

Alexis continues to be linked with Manchester City as his contract continues to run down at the Emirates Stadium.

And the Gunners have started making contingency plans, with Aubameyang their primary target given his willingness to leave the Bundesliga giants.


Arsenal to move for young Spanish star

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has set his sights on a move for Dinamo Zagreb's Spanish attacker Dani Olmo, according to 24 sata .

Olmo, 19, has represented Spanish youth national teams, but recently gained Croatian citizenship. Spain will reportedly call him up to their U-21 side in the near future to avoid the teenager pledging his international future to Croatia. 

Wenger will face competition for Olmo, with three other English sides reportedly interested. 


Jardim says Lemar won't be sold in January

Monaco head coach Leonardo Jardim has said that his side will not allow Thomas Lemar to leave the club this January.

The 22-year-old is a long-term target of Liverpool and Arsenal, but Jardim says Lemar won't be leaving Monaco until summer at the earliest.

"Monaco are not in the habit of making big sales in the winter. It's our strategy. The players understand and they know how it goes here," Jardim said.

Leicester City manager Claude Puel believes Riyad Mahrez is happy at the club and rejected claims the winger will seek a move away in the January transfer window.

Many of Europe's biggest clubs have been monitoring the Algerian attacker, who handed in a transfer request this summer that ultimately went unfulfilled.
