Ambrose Efe snapped by Hibernian, set for debut

Ambrose Efe has joined Scottish second division outfit, Hibernian on a 93-day emergency loan from Celtic.

Work permit issues had stopped the 28-year-old from joining English Championship outfit, Blackburn.

On his return to the Bhoys the former Ashdod defender opted to sign for the Hibs and underwent medicals on Monday. The deal runs untll the end of the season.

With injury leaving Neil Lennon and Darren McGregor as the only fit defenders, the Nigeria international will be expected to go into the starting lineup for a Scottish second division encounter with St Mirren on Wednesday night.

The Easter Road outfit are on the course to seal promotion into the Scottish topflight as they sit atop the second tier log. Seven points separates them from their closest rival, Dundee.
