A rocket of a strike hands Spurs three precious points

James Maddison ended his 610-day Premier League goal drought with a spectacular strike to break an historic long-range record, while Omar Marmoush and Ben Davies fired Tottenham to a 3-1 victory against Coventry. Spurs earned a much-needed triumph to relieve early-season pressure, finally jumping to 16th place in the table with a vital six points.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has sparked a major political storm in his native Brazil by accusing presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro of illegally seizing his private island. The 29-year-old striker claims the senator, who is the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, took possession of the luxury property without paying a single cent.

Will the results improve?
