Teams have been busy booking their spots and preparing for the summer's tournament in Brazil - but who are the most likely contenders to claim the trophy?
Football's global governing body has confirmed the full 64-match schedule for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil. The legendary Maracana in Rio de Janeiro will take centre stage, hosting both the opening fixture and the grand finale. All eight host cities across the vibrant South American nation are set to welcome knockout-stage football as anticipation builds for the historic tournament.
The United States Women’s National Team secured a gritty 1-0 victory over Brazil on Tuesday night, but the football was almost entirely overshadowed by total anarchy on the pitch. In a highly contentious game, the officiating took center stage as a staggering eight red cards were issued to the home side's players and coaching staff.
The USWNT ended their winless streak against Brazil in chaotic fashion, edging Tuesday’s match on an own goal after eight red cards and more than 10 yellows.
