New boys Mattia Bani, Emmanuel Gyasi, Tommaso Augello and Antonio Palumbo are expected to feature here.

Palumbo and Augello have registered their names among the goal scorers in the pre-season, alongside Joel Pohjanpalo, Jacopo Segre, Valerio Brutto and Salim Diakite. Manager Filippo Inzaghi is likely to give all of them minutes on the field again.

Claudio Gomes, who joined Palermo from City in 2022, has made nearly 100 senior appearances for the club. The Frenchman did not play a single senior match during his time at the Etihad Stadium, but he may be available to play against his former club.

Manchester City team news

Jack Grealish, James McAtee and Stefan Ortega are all absent due to speculation surrounding their futures. Mateo Kovacic and Kalvin Phillips continue to recover from Achilles surgery.

While Rodri, Phil Foden, Josko Gvardiol and Claudio Echeverri have been deemed not fully fit and omitted from the 22-member traveling squad, summer signing and backup goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli is also sidelined with an injury.

Nico O’Reilly, who missed Tuesday’s open training session due to a minor issue, has been included in the squad and might feature. New signings James Trafford, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki are also part of the traveling party.

Erling Haaland is available for selection, joined by players such as Omar Marmoush, Jeremy Doku, Savinho, Oscar Bobb and 17-year-old Divine Mukasa.
