Once Caldas team news

Once Caldas arrive after a massive 7-0 aggregate victory over San Antonio Bulo Bulo in the previous round, showcasing their attacking power in international fixtures despite inconsistent domestic form - currently sitting 19th in the Colombian Clausura. They most recently drew 1-1 at home against Rionegro Águilas; standout veteran forward Dayro Moreno remains the main attacking threat, while Matko Miljevic has contributed as an assister.

However, their defense is yet to find consistent stability and has struggled to keep clean sheets in the league. Injury-wise, Once Caldas miss defenders Jaider Riquett and Jorge Cardona, both out with muscle injuries until early September, but the bulk of their regular starting XI is expected to feature.

Huracan team news

Huracán come into the tie unbeaten in the tournament, topping a difficult group that included América de Cali, Corinthians, and Racing Montevideo. Frank Kudelka’s men have earned a reputation for mature, organized play and recently won 1-0 away against Tigre in Argentina’s Clausura thanks to a goal from Leonardo Gil.

Huracán currently sit fifth in the Argentine league and have shown strong form, particularly defensively, having conceded just twice in six Copa Sudamericana games. The squad is largely at full strength with no major injuries reported, and regulars like forward Leonardo Sequeira and midfielder Gil are set to start.
