How to watch today's Cruz Azul vs Colorado Rapids Leagues Cup game: Live stream, TV channel, and start time

Cruz Azul and the Colorado Rapids are set to square off in their final Leagues Cup group-stage clash, but with elimination already looming large over both clubs, this one's purely for pride.

Cruz Azul's campaign spiraled early, thanks to a humiliating 7-0 defeat to the Seattle Sounders—a second-half collapse that saw them ship all seven goals at Lumen Field. That heavy loss virtually slammed the door on La Máquina's knockout hopes before they even got started.

They did manage to salvage a 1-1 draw against the LA Galaxy in their second outing, a feisty affair riddled with nearly 30 fouls and eight yellow cards. Cruz Azul eventually edged the shootout, but the extra point did little to revive their faint chances of progression.

As for the Rapids, their tournament began on a brighter note. Rafael Navarro netted a brace to lift Colorado to a 2-1 win over Santos Laguna, but the Mexican side returned the favor with a 2-1 victory of their own in the reverse fixture in Colorado.

In MLS play, the Rapids are currently clinging to the ninth spot in the Western Conference, just hanging onto the final play-in position. While this Leagues Cup matchup might not have tournament implications, it’s a chance for both sides to find momentum and restore some pride before turning their focus back to league play.

Cruz Azul team news

Cruz Azul will continue to be without Andres Montano, as the midfielder remains sidelined with a long-term ACL injury. The 25-year-old isn't expected to feature again until late January 2026, leaving a gap in the squad's midfield depth.

There’s also concern up front, with Gabriel Fernandez nursing a knee issue. The Uruguayan striker is a doubt for the upcoming clash, and a decision on his involvement will likely be made closer to kickoff.

Despite the setbacks, Angel Sepulveda remains a consistent threat in attack. The veteran forward has been leading the line with real conviction and enters this contest after topping the scoring charts in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup, bagging nine goals during that run.

New Argentine recruit Jose Paradela has also made an eye-catching start to life in Mexico, notching three goals in his first three Liga MX appearances, and looks set to play a key role once again.

Colorado Rapids team news

The Colorado Rapids could be sweating over the fitness of Josh Atencio, who limped off in their recent defeat to Philadelphia. The 23-year-old midfielder will undergo a late fitness assessment ahead of Thursday’s matchup.

Meanwhile, Connor Ronan remains out of action as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury. The creative playmaker isn't expected back until late August, leaving the Rapids without one of their key midfield engines.
