Los Angeles Rams vs Los Angeles Chargers team news

Los Angeles Rams team news

Quarterback Stetson Bennett stole the show, playing the full game and delivering 188 passing yards on 16-of-24 throws, with two touchdowns and one interception. With Matthew Stafford still nursing a back issue and focusing on a Saturday workout rather than game action, Los Angeles will once again rest its starters and stick with a similar lineup to the one that toppled Dallas.

Los Angeles Chargers team news

Across town, the Chargers are treating this preseason a bit differently under Jim Harbaugh. After resting starters entirely last year, the Bolts will give Justin Herbert and the first-team offense a brief cameo, up to eight plays, before handing the reins to the backups.

Trey Lance, fresh off an encouraging outing against the Saints where he posted 55 passing yards and added 48 yards and a rushing score on the ground, is expected to see extended reps again despite being listed as questionable. Los Angeles’ defense shined in that 27-13 win over New Orleans, delivering a pick-six and a strip-sack at the goal line.

Injuries could shuffle the Chargers' depth chart, with Des Fitzpatrick, Jalen Reagor, Najee Harris, and Lance all carrying question marks, though Harbaugh has confirmed Lance should suit up. Meanwhile, Taylor Heinicke will hope for a bounce-back after a rough 1-for-5, 8-yard showing last week.
