The Liga MX draft could be on its way out, but went strong Wednesday.
The newly formed players' union plans to speak out against the day-long process of wheeling and dealing with owners sending players to one corner of Mexico or another without the players or their agents having any say.
The madness continued into the week, though. Here are the biggest deals that were announced Wednesday...
AMERICA CONFIRMS RODRIGUEZ MOVE
MOVE: Guido Rodriguez signs with America from Club Tijuana
ANALYSIS: Miguel Herrera had to fend off interest from European clubs for the newly minted Argentina international but in doing so gets a player who both fit into his system with ease in Tijuana and fills a position that has been one of America's biggest issue for the past several tournaments.
HURTADO MOVE TO MONTERREY OFFICIAL

MOVE: Aviles Hurtado joins Monterrey from Tijuana on a long-term deal
ANALYSIS: Former Tijuana coach Miguel Herrera wanted to bring the attacking dynamo to Club America with him, but it's another former Tijuana boss, Antonio Mohamed, who will bring in the Colombian. He fits well in Mohamed's attack and doesn't bring the baggage some of Rayados' other attackers have had weighing them down.
RAYADOS MAKE GOALKEEPING MOVE

MOVE: Juan Pablo Carrizo signs with Monterrey from Inter Milan
ANALYSIS: The Argentine goalkeeper won't have the No. 1 job locked up, but the club clearly wasn't happy with what Hugo Gonzalez provided last season and made a move (though not technically in the draft).
CORTES TO SANTOS, CALDERON TO PUMAS

MOVE: Javier Cortes signs with Santos Laguna from Pumas on a long-term deal with Nestor Calderon going from Santos Laguna to Pumas
ANALYSIS: The Argentine winger showed a glimpse of being one of the league's top players several years ago but hasn't found his form since. Is Santos the place to do it with its manager's conservative tendencies?
Pumas may have gotten the better side of the deal with Calderon now having a championship to his name after a solid few months on loan with Chivas.
HERRERA BRINGS IN ANOTHER EX-XOLO
MOVE: Carlos Vargas goes from Club Tijuana to Club America
ANALYSIS: This tournament showed that Club America could use defensive depth, and the potential Mexico international (named Wednesday to the Gold Cup roster) will provide that for Las Aguilas.
PUEBLA NAB AMERICA TRIO ON LOAN

MOVE(S): Puebla signs goalkeeper Moises Munoz, midfielder Jose "Chepe" Guerrero and defender Erik Pimentel from Club America, all on loan.
ANALYSIS: With reported financial problems reported, Puebla was the last team to make moves in the draft but now picks up a trio of players who are not in America's plans but could help the team in the fight for survival.
RIVAS JOINS CLUB TIBURONES
MOVE: Jose Rivas on loan to Tiburones
ANALYSIS: The long-time Tigres player has made a temporary move to join the Veracruz outfit with Rivas seeing few minutes in Tigres' star-studded squad.
PACHUCA SECURES CARDONA LOAN
MOVE: Edwin Cardona is headed to Pachuca on loan from Monterrey
ANALYSIS: The Colombia international had been linked with clubs out of the country but now will join Edson Puch as another player who can help Tuzos revitilize their with the Club World Cup looming in December.
GUERRON MOVING ACROSS TOWN

MOVE: Forward Joffre Guerron is headed from Cruz Azul to Pumas on a long-term deal.
ANALYSIS: You scored as many Liga MX goals as Guerron did this tournament, unless of course you scored a goal. The 32-year-old was an instant hit with Tigres in 2014 but has fizzled since. It's tough to see Paco Palencia getting something out of him, but the price probably was right.
MONTERREY BRINGS IN BENITEZ

MOVE: Monterrey has signed Jorge "Conejo" Benitez.
ANALYSIS: Cruz Azul coach Paco Jemez had deemed the forward surplus after a disappointing campaign. While there were rumors he was exploring a return to a European club, he instead heads north to Monterrey where he'll hope to fit into Antonio Mohamed's attack.
PUCH GOES TO PACHUCA

MOVE: Forward Edson Puch is leaving Necaxa and joining Pachuca, which welcomed him with a tweet asking if he'd like to play in the Club World Cup with the CONCACAF champions.
ANALYSIS: It's a perfect fit for Tuzos, who are likely to lose winger Hirving Lozano to La Liga in the offseason. Even if "El Chucky" somehow stays on, Puch should spur on an attack that stalled last tournament after being the league's best the year before.
MAZA LEAVES CRUZ AZUL
MOVE: Lobos BUAP sign Francisco "Maza" Rodriguez from Cruz Azul
ANALYSIS: The former Mexico international didn't look up to Liga MX quality when he was last seeing time with La Maquina but fits the theme of the newly promoted side bringing in veteran players.
GUEMEZ SIGNS WITH QUERETARO

MOVE: Midfielder Javier Guemez goes from Club America to Queretaro.
ANALYSIS: The former Tijuana midfielder had his up-and-coming career derailed by injuries upon his move to Mexico City and a change of scenery might be what the 25-year-old defensive midfielder needs to get back on track.
PONCE LEAVES CHIVAS ON LOAN

MOVE: Miguel Ponce is headed to Necaxa on loan from Chivas
ANALYSIS: The defender isn't a regular in the Chivas starting lineup and with new coach Nacho Ambriz looking to get Necaxa back into the postseason, the former Mexico international could be a good fit.
LOBOS BUAP MAKE FIRST SIGNING
MOVE: Morelia sells Carlos Morales to Lobos BUAP
ANALYSIS: The newly promoted side will need to make several moves to bolster its roster after winning the Ascenso, and the 37-year-old will provide plenty of Liga MX experience in the locker room.
