Manchester City v Huddersfield: Could Aaron Mooy's side be Pep Guardiola's kryptonite?

Much like the man of steel, Manchester City resembled a super-human side last season as they flew to the Premier League title and collected 100 points in the process.

Pep Guardiola's side played some mesmersing football along the way as they scored 106 goals, but one unlikely side were able to keep them contained.

Huddersfield Town, with Socceroo Aaron Mooy in the heart of midfield, were the only team to stop City scoring at home last season courtesy of a 0-0 draw in May.

Despite having 79 percent possession, Guardiola's men couldn't break the Terriers' defence down as both sides had to settle for a point.

That result meant the Citizens have now failed to score in their past four home encounters with Huddersfield and they've never gone five straight home games in their history without scoring a goal against an opponent.

Across their two Premier League encounters last season, Guardiola's free-flowing side found themselves tripping up against David Wagner's outfit and only managed seven shots on target against them.

It was a remarkable accomplishment for Huddersfield, who leaked 58 goals across the season and avoided relegation by just four points.

The Terriers face another battle to stay up this season and found themselves outclassed in their season opener against Chelsea in a 3-0 loss.

Manchester City meanwhile picked up where they left off as they dispatched Arsenal in a clinical 2-0 win away from home.

They'll return to Etihad Stadium on Sunday without Kevin De Bruyne, who looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, but with a lethal Sergio Aguero in their midst.

The Argentine striker has scored 11 goals in his last seven Premier League games at the Etihad and will be a prime candidate to break City's unlikely drought against the Terriers at home.

Huddersfield themselves have been struggling to find the back of the net, failing to scoring in eight of their past 11 Premier League games.

Against last season's Premier League winners however, another clean sheet and not goals will be on the Terriers' minds as they look to once again stop City on their own soil.
