GOALTHE BIGGER PICTURE
Bayern are reportedly working "very hard" to complete the deal in the coming weeks, hoping to sign him early in the transfer window, which opens officially on June 1. Kompany, who has been tracking the player since his time at Burnley and during the defender's loan at Roma, has made him a top priority for this summer.
While the Bavarians prepared to offer a lucrative five-year contract, Real Madrid have been reported of having a keen interest in the Bournemouth centre-back and remain a major contender. The 19-year-old has admitted his dream is to play for Madrid, making them a serious threat in the race for his signature. Despite this, Bayern want to ensure they remain ahead in the race by becoming the first team to make an official offer for the Spaniard.
